Practical wildfire readiness, built around water.

Wildfire Emergency Technologies helps Ontario cottage, waterfront, and remote-property owners turn their available water source into a practical, site-specific readiness advantage.

ABOUT WILDFIRE EMERGENCY TECHNOLOGIES

Our Mission

Our mission is to help Muskoka and Ontario communities understand wildfire and fire risk, and to help property owners prepare for fire emergencies with practical, site-specific systems built around their own water source. We support every system with the right plan, hands-on training and ongoing service.

Our Approach

Assess honestly

Every property has different shoreline access, elevation, distances, power requirements, and operational needs. A real assessment comes before any equipment recommendations.

Engineer practically

We design around the property and the people who will use the system. It’s not a one-size-fits-all kit.

Prepare properly

Installation is only the beginning. Training, seasonal check-ins, testing, and maintenance help keep readiness from becoming unused equipment.

Our Founders

Wildfire Emergency Technologies (W.E.T. Defence) began with a simple conversation about helping family, friends and neighbours protect the properties they love. We believe that with the right equipment, planning and training, owners can take practical steps before a wildfire threatens their home.

For co-founder Laura, the mission is personal. She grew up in Muskoka, where her family has been for almost 90 years. Over those years they lost two cottages to fires that burned inside for days before anyone knew. When lightning struck their family island, neighbours rushed to help and the fire was put out quickly. Those experiences showed her both the cost of being unprepared and what a quick response can do. A photographer, filmmaker and the owner of Creative Good Inc., Laura leads our branding and community engagement.

Co-founder Adam spent almost 30 years on Lake Rosseau. His experience in contracting, waterfront construction and water management, including high-volume pumping, erosion control and dewatering, means he understands how water moves and how pumps perform in real conditions. He and his team know how to turn a design into a working installation, from placing pumps and running hoses to installing sprinklers on roofs and around buildings.

Together with their team, they design, install and maintain pump and sprinkler systems tailored to your water source and property, with training for the people who will run them. Our systems support preparedness and don't replace emergency services or evacuation orders.
